Class 2-
This form is an excellent way to involve parents in the first few days of school. It allows me to find out information about the student, and evaluate if the student has internet access at home.
Some other students in my class used this form to do exit slips on videos that the students can watch, or for learning how to do research on the computer. I like that it will send the answers to me so that I can evaluate the answers without collecting any papers.

Class 3- http://artpad.art.com
http://www.tiki-toki.com/timeline/entry/102017/History-of-the-Computer/
This was not my favorite, it was interesting, and could be used
for creating biography timelines or history timelines if you are teaching older
kids. Since there are so many skills required to manipulate, cut and paste
etc., I would not find useful for elementary students creating their own.

Class 4
www.linoit.com- Posty notes online! good resource for ways of communicating, brainstorming etc.
Our project was to do research on the parts of the computer. We were able to read the section that we were assigned and then add sticky notes about the part that we did. What I liked is that we could complete it at our leisure, yet we were still able to complete the project as a group. This would be helpful in a classroom because students work at different paces, yet it would allow them to monitor how the group is progressing. With a classroom setting, the students would still be able to talk about what is missing, and then assist the ones that struggle to keep up or procrastinate.

This linoit was just for me- for fun to see how many of my students were going online to see what I am doing when I am at school. They have enjoyed seeing that I am a student too!
Class 5- Glyph and Avatar
I made a fun formative assessment for my second graders. It could be used as a pre-assessment or post-assessment or both. Students that need creative outlet may enjoy using glyphs for an assessment. Click the link below to download the directions. Be prepared that this glyph is different than what you expect to see.

My Avatar
This is my avatar- I used http://www.doppelme.com/create/#
I could have also used http://digibody.com/avatar-maker/index.php

- Students would enjoy making their own avatars. They could put their avatars on their assignments along with their names.
Week 6-
Voki
Vokis are really cool. I think that teachers at any level would benefit from using these from time to time. I know that my students would LOVE to see me giving instruction this way versus listening to me the whole time. I would want to play and explore with this tool, because I haven't quite had time to figure out how the different recordings are played, but I think that the kids would love it and would be more interested and engaged in the lessons.
The lesson plan I examined and liked was the one that has a chef give intermittant directions, while the kids complete the project. At the end of the lesson he summarized it so that they would remember. This idea of using the voki to explain various steps and then summarize is interesting , because the kids would like to see what it has to say next.

Polling through text or internet
http://www.polleverywhere.com/multiple_choice_polls/LDDsfXnSXYRb3Gr
Update- KEA meeting used this site during their meeting to poll teachers about different questions. The only concern that was brought up at my table was whether or not the responses could be traced to the member that answered the poll. I would expect that it would be possible, but difficult. This site could be used to assess how the class is understanding a concept as a WHOLE, but not specific to the student.
Flashcard set of Net Lingo Terms
http://www.flashcardmachine.com/2493074/y6d7
This site will be very useful to work with kids. We all have vocabulary terms that kids need to stay fresh on. We could also use it for math flashcards, contraction review, compound word practice and practice with keyboarding if they are able to make their own.
Class 7- Technology Interview
Class 8- Fotobabble & Popplet
www.hippocampus.com- I explored this website, and struggled a bit to find appropriate material for my young students. I finally located a video on measurement, and the very beginning of the video gave a great real-world example of the importance of units of measurement. However, as the video went on, it became apparent that this site is geared mostly for older students.
www.discoveryeducation.com- I explored this website as well, and I have used some of the movies and virtual field trips before in class. It is an interesting site that has good lesson plan ideas for student inquiry.
www.learner.org- I played with the interactive part of this website. I liked that the one that I tried allowed students to explore and discover on their own. It was the balance scale activity, where the student has to figure out how many blocks are in a bag by keeping the scale balanced while removing or adding blocks.
http://freerice.com/index.php#/english-vocabulary/1370- I used this site a lot in my computer lab. I taught grades kindergarten through eighth grade, and the kids understood what they were doing when they were answering questions correctly.
http://www.vocabahead.com - Wow! This would be beneficial to anyone looking to develop their vocabulary. I was challenged, and I have a pretty extensive vocabulary. The kids would like this if they are able to read the words. Again, this is higher level than my second grade classroom, but if you login you could create your own vocabulary lists. It would be useful for teachers and parents to use with their kids to review for tests in all academic areas.
www.mathmaster.org- This one was great! I loved that the kids could watch a video of the lesson and then the teacher could click and create a worksheet to go along with the lesson. I used www.superteacher.com and www.math-drills.com

www.fotobabble.com
This site is pretty cool. I liked the idea that my teacher gave to allow the kids come to the computer and say responses to the pictures. I think the kids would be extremely engaged if they knew their voices would be on the computer. If I were to use this in the computer lab or classroom, it would be neat if the kids could do a compliation of different pictures with their words- kind of like making their own movie. I explored the other site that you encouraged us to look at - www.pimpampum.net/phrasr/index.php and wondered if there would be a way to integrate the two sites...
Popplet
Popplet is a cool site, and I have used similar software programs for brainstorming. I found the assignment rather tedious, but I could see older students using this to help prepare for a research paper.
I immediately thought of my middle school and upper elementary students using this to brainstorm ideas for a power point or a story. They may find it more fun that drawing it on paper, and they are able to refer back to it for use. My only concern/ question is how to use this with students that are too young to have an email address.

Class 9: Google Screencast
Google tools in the classroom is a LOT of stuff! I explored how to search safely using google. I had a hard time figuring out how to change the settings until I watched the video posted by another classmate. You have to DO a search before you can see the little wrench that you change the settings under! Silly me!
After watching her video, I still had a few parental concerns, so my video addresses those concerns.
I have already used google maps to create a virtual field trip to Frankfort, KY. I attached a video link to the singing bridge so that the kids could hear it. (look on the other pages on my page). singing bridge
My family uses google calendar to make sure everyone gets where they need to be on time, or so that they are not forgotten. My oldest boys have their own accounts, so that they are responsible for putting dates in that we need to know. I love that I can send invitations to contacts, which could be utilized with the Google groups app.
I use google drive to keep my material nearby.

Class 10 -Vodcasting and Podcasting
I think that vodcasting would be VERY beneficial to students and teachers alike! I plan on utilizing this next year in the computer lab in the same fashion as Ms. Bratcher has. I like that I can click back and forth between the video explaining what to do, and the work that I am doing. Some kids (and adults) require watching and working the same thing over and over, and we all forget things. By making these vodcasts and podcasts, you need to actually use your metacognition to follow and understand all the directions. Understandably, the podcast makes you listen and process deeper than the vodcasts, but learners like me have a hard time staying focused without some sort of image. If students choose to work while they are listening to the instructions, they can have more than one window open.
Great use of technology!
My podcast below is on how to set up and use an interactive site to plan your lessons. I use it constantly and love it. I plan on using a screencast that I will post to my website for teachers to use at my school next year.

Class 11- Professional Learning Networks
Twitter- I can see the benefit to this network. The #search tool could be very useful in class for the reasons that you mentioned. It is also a neat way to find out information and similar to pinterest. However, I still prefer pinterest and facebook with the pictures and such rather than twitter. It is new, and with all things new, I need to learn it and play with it more before I judge.

I loved the links that you offered for professional development. I may try to borrow some links for when I am the STC at my school. I downloaded a booklet from the website www.simplek12.com I think that it has great ideas, and could offer a lot to teachers that are struggling to incorporate technology into their classrooms.

Class 12- Videos in the Classroom
I use videos a lot in my classroom, sometimes to begin a lesson to drive their interest, but other times I use them to enhance things that they seem to want to learn more about. For example, we are investigating rocks right now and the students were doing an experiment that required them to describe rocks. The three rocks they analyzed came from different parts of a volcano. As we were discussing the lesson, several misconceptions were discovered and I decided that I needed to provide them with additional background knowledge about volcanoes before we moved on. I went to discovery education and found appropriate videos to help address the misconceptions and allow for additional information.
Tubechop- awesome idea! This site allows you to chop only the parts that you want from the video! Great way to save time and bring out the best of the video.
Stupeflix and Animoto- this allows you to create a video of pictures that are collected. Sounds like it would be a good way to make the kids involved in the lesson if you can create a lesson based on pictures that you create with them.
I liked the last one that you typed up as well. It is hard to find appropriate videos on the fly- this comprehensive list is a great one to keep handy by your computer

Acrostic Poster
The acrostic posters are really easy, and kids would like using the computer to make the posters rather than just a piece of paper.
My kids are often not fond of poetry, but this might make it more enjoyable to them. Thanks for the idea
